Very good but not 5 star

I haven't had Kona in quite a few years so maybe I'm not 100% spot-on for the review. I remember Kona tasting "different" than other coffees - more unique. While I like the coffee and it's obviously high quality, I just don't love it. YMMV. Flavor notes I've detected - in a Clever dripper I got a cup with oaky/peppery finish (nice). With Aeropress got more acid and front-end citrus - smoother finish (better). It's smooth, but not finding any sweetness/carmel. maybe need to dial my grind in further.

Got medium roast and need dark roast

Coffee is good. I should have gone with the dark roast for my buds flavors. Shipping, product updates and processing is ?. Got 2 bags of the medium roast and even though I did not like it so much I keep drinking it as quality is there and for medium roast drinkers, this coffee will be a great match. I am going to test another bag from their estate at dark roast and will keep you posted.

Best so far

I have been buying coffee from Hawaiian Queen for years and never really found my perfect match until this purchase. The extra fancy is the best of all the coffee they sell to my taste. I've tried every other coffee they sell experimenting with different roasts and never found the right combination until now. Extra fancy with a medium roast it the way to go..

Smooth, aromatic and not bitter

No blends are necessary with this coffee. Straight out of the bag, it's very good.

Always Delicious

The best cup of coffee I have ever brewed!

This was my first time ordering from Hawaiian Queen Coffee. I couldn't decide which to try first, so I decided to sample three: Extra Fancy, Peaberry and Private Reserve. I just received my order yesterday, so I have not had time to try them all. I decided to brew the Extra Fancy first ... it was the best cup of coffee I have ever brewed! I still have two to try before I decide which is my favorite, however, I have already decided I will never buy beans from the grocery again! I was content with Fresh Market's Kona until I tried Hawaiian Queen. I'm very happy I found this farm online!

Great coffee beans/coffee

I generally purchase Extra Fancy ground coffee. However, I decided to purchase a quality grinder and now I grind the beans. Wow!, what a big difference…much more flavor. This coffee is expensive, but it’s so much better and enjoyable than other coffee I’ve purchased at the grocery store or coffee shops like Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds, etc.

BEST COFFEE!

I’ve been drinking Extra Fancy for almost two years. It is pricey, but this coffee doesn’t disappoint. It’s smooth, not acidic, great favor and you are amazed with each sip. I LOVE THIS COFFEE! Extra Fancy (full city roast) has made me a coffee snob.

Standalone or as a blend

Great coffee on its own, but I also have other coffees which aren't as great, but simply make a mix of 50/50 beans with the Extra Fancy and it improves the overall flavor of other coffees.

Smooth as silk

Love the Extra Fancy. As other reviewers have noted, it is smooth, has no acidity, and is full-flavored. Worth the price. Would order again. I also tried the Private Reserve and Estate. They are not quite as good as Extra Fancy, but still very good overall compared to other coffees. The delivery was timely for shipment across the Pacific.
